KRAKOW, May 11 ??“ President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has said that Ukraine will remain a serious player on the European electricity market.

"I consider as a key priority for the future [Ukraine's] joining Europe's UCTE system, with subsequent growth in electricity exports to European countries," he said during an energy summit in the Polish city of Krakow on Friday.

Yushchenko then urged the countries participating in the summit to use their energy transportation potential jointly.
