KIEV, May 8 - Ukraine??™s industrial output expanded 12.3% year-on-year in April reflecting robust performance by the country??™s steel sector, the backbone of the country??™s economy, the State Statistics Committee reported Wednesday.

The steel sector was booming due to strong steel prices worldwide, but was also fueled by growing demand domestically due to robust expansion in the construction sector, the committee said.
