KIEV, April 25 ??“ The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is going to buy a stake in the charter capital of a medium-sized Ukrainian bank, thus expanding its presence in Ukraine's banking sector.

"I think that in a month or two it could be announced in the press that talks with one of the medium-sized banks are under way ??¦ [Now] it's premature to speak about that (about the details of the deal, we'll have a new bank," EBRD Country Director for Ukraine Kamen Zahariev said at a press conference on Wednesday.
