KIEV, April 24 ??“ The Ukrainian government, led by Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, plans to approve on Wednesday a resolution that would increase pensions to more than 1 million retirees, according to the government??™s press service.

Yanukovych and Labor and Social Policy Minister Mykhailo Papiev discussed the draft resolution at a meeting on Tuesday.

The discussions about the populist move to increase the pensions come as President Viktor Yushchenko had dissolved Parliament and called new election May 27.
