KIEV, April 16 ??“ The Ukrainian economy expanded 8% on the year in the first quarter showing little sign of slowdown despite an ongoing political crisis, the State Statistics Committee reported Monday.

The economic expansion was fueled by robust growth in manufacturing industry, but also in construction and retail sectors, the committee reported.
