KIEV, April 13 - U.S. anti-missile defense cooperation with Ukraine concerns only research and development, the U.S. Embassy to Ukraine said on Friday in a statement, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

The embassy said a statement by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Brian Green had been misinterpreted by a number of media.

"There is no cooperative agreement current, pending, or being negotiated between the United States and Ukraine similar to the site agreements being negotiated in Poland and the Czech Republic. The United States cooperates on aerospace technology and missile defense with many countries," the statement says.
