KIEV, Feb. 23 ??“ Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych sought to assure the European Union that Ukraine is committed to joining the World Trade Organization and seeks to sign a free trade agreement with the EU.

Yanukovych called European Commission Representative for Trade Peter Mandelson by phone on Wednesday to issue the assurances following delays by his government in complying with the WTO regulations.
