KIEV, Feb. 9 ??“ Smart-group is to invest about $1 billion into the reconstruction of Makiyivka Metallurgical Plant in order to improve its production efficiency and increase the plant's output capacity.

Ihor Smiyanenko, the company??™s director general and board chairman, the development plan foresees the construction of its own sinter plant, a blast furnace, the modernization of its steel smelting facilities and the complete reconstruction of the plant's energy system.
