KYIV, May 22 – State customers have purchased 50,000 drones for over UAH 6 billion in two years through the ProZorro Market e-catalogue, they managed to save UAH 300 million, the Ministry of Economy press service said on Thursday.

"UAVs have become one of the most popular categories in the system. The Mavic, FPV and Phantom models are most often chosen – they are used for reconnaissance, fire adjustment and performance of combat missions," the ministry said in the report.

According to First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, cited in the publication, such results are a real example of how public procurement works for defense capability.

The ministry said ProZorro Market simplifies and speeds up drone purchases. Customers do not need to independently prepare technical specifications or check suppliers – this has already been done by specialists from the state-owned institution "Professional Procurement." Due to this, the procurement process lasts an average of nine days, which is twice as fast as through open tenders. And in conditions of large-scale war, speed is crucial.

Drones from ProZorro Market are actively purchased by military units – thanks to the Personal Income Tax, they have their own budgets and can quickly provide for themselves. After changes in the legislation in 2024, communities have also joined the procurement, they are also allowed to purchase equipment at the request of military units.

"We added drones to ProZorro Market because we knew they were needed immediately. This is one of those categories that can be easily standardized, which means they can be purchased quickly and conveniently. In times of war, this is critical: the state must act promptly. Therefore, we are constantly responding to requests and expanding ProZorro Market," Director of Professional Procurement Yevhen Yakubovsky said. (om/ez)
