KYIV, March 20 – In 2024, Ukraine imported primarily grain and oilseed seeds, with the majority sourced from European Union countries and the United States, the National Scientific Centre Institute of Agrarian Economics reported. The largest volume of imported seeds was hybrid corn, followed by increased purchases of rapeseed.
"Ukraine imported seeds of grain, oilseeds, sugar beets, and vegetables worth $381.3 million. The European Union accounted for 52.5% of these supplies, selling Ukrainian farmers over $200 million worth of seeds. The United States was the second-largest supplier, contributing 19.0% of imports, or $72.6 million," the statement said.
