UK to lend GBP 2.258-bln to Ukraine to be repaid via immobilized Russian assets
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, March 3 – A GBP 2.258 billion (about $3 billion) loan agreement between Ukraine and the UK, which will be repaid from income received from immobilised Russian assets, was signed on Saturday. It will be used to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

"London. A meaningful and warm meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer… today, in our presence, Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a Loan Agreement. This loan will enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities and will be repaid using revenues from frozen Russian assets. The funds will be directed toward weapons production in Ukraine," Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.
