KYIV, Feb 28 - The situation with natural gas in Ukraine makes it necessary to ensure the operation of generation plants not only on this type of fuel, but also on alternative ones, believes Yuriy Boiko, a member of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo.
"As the last few weeks have shown, within the framework of implementing the concept of distributed generation, one must certainly bear in mind the need for at least dual-fuel operation of those small power plants that will be built … It is necessary to have the opportunity to engage in operation on reserve fuel," he said during a thematic discussion on the development of Ukraine's energy sector by Energy Club, which was broadcast online, an Energy Reform correspondent reports.
