KYIV, Feb 12 – Over the past decade, Ukraine's population has decreased by 10 million, now totaling 32 million people. However, the global Ukrainian nation is estimated at 60 million, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov said in an interview with the German publication Die Welt.
"At the time of our independence, Ukraine had a population of 52 million. Over the next ten years, this number fell to 48 million. Before the first invasion, it stood at 45 million. By 2015, following the annexation of Crimea, the population dropped to 42 million. And now, by the end of 2024, the figure is 32 million – an astonishing number," Chernyshov stated.
