KYIV, Feb 5 - Ukraine will need to import approximately 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas by the end of 2025, and possibly more, which will depend on its volumes at the end of the autumn-winter period, taking into account the shelling of the gas infrastructure by the Russian Federation, believes Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko.
"Of course, we need gas imports. As for volumes, we will see what we will come out of this season with, taking into account, among other things, the consequences of Russian attacks on gas infrastructure. We will see, but I think that at least 1 billion cubic meters will definitely have to be imported by the end of the year. Perhaps even more," the minister said in a blitz interview with Interfax-Ukraine, noting that "the question is not even about this season, but because we need to fill the storage facilities by the next autumn-winter period."
