KYIV, Feb 3 - The OKKO Group of Companies has commissioned an energy storage unit (ESU) with a total capacity of 20 MW ahead of schedule to operate in the ancillary services market, Ukrenergo reported.
As noted in its message on Telegram on Monday, OKKO received the right to build and connect the ESU to the power grid at a special auction held in the summer of 2024 for the long-term acquisition of ancillary services by Ukrenergo. At the auction, the investor guaranteed the construction of almost 99 MW of new capacity to provide frequency support reserves (FSR) for a period of five years. These capacities were to be commissioned by October 2025.
