KYIV, Jan 21 – Ukrainian farmland needs to be cleared and demined as quickly as possible and returned to use, as farmers feed Ukraine and the world, Agrarian Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval has said during a panel discussion on demining and green recovery in Davos on Tuesday.
"Today, we have already made a significant step forward. In 2024, 315,200 hectares were demined, of which 286,000 hectares were agricultural land. We managed to sow and harvest 225,000 hectares. But our goal is not just to put these lands back into circulation, but to make them a guarantee of safe food," the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food quoted Koval in a Telegram message.
