KYIV, Jan 20 – The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision opening the way to attracting foreign companies to the development and production of new, as well as modernized and modified types of weapons, military and special equipment for the Defense Forces of Ukraine, said Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the parliamentary committee on finance, taxation and customs policy.

"This is an extremely important step forward in expanding military-technical cooperation with allied states. We urgently need a serious modernization of the military equipment (primarily aircraft, ships and other complex military equipment with which the Ukrainian Armed Forces are equipped), in particular, the development of their new modifications taking into account the experience gained during the ongoing war. We need to replace many units and assemblies for equipment manufactured back in the days of the USSR or at enterprises located in the aggressor state with more modern, high-quality ones with improved parameters, durable and reliable ones," Hetmantsev wrote on Telegram.
