KYIV, Jan 10 – There is no threat of a reduction or limitation of electricity imports from Europe to Ukraine due to statements by Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico to cut off its supplies, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said.
"The Slovak power grid is part of the unified European grid. Even if they were technically able to close their entrances to Ukraine for repairs for a short period, then according to the rules of the unified market, the volume of electricity is proportionally redistributed between the supplier countries. Poland and our other neighbors have stated that they are ready to cooperate if necessary… Therefore, at the moment, there is no threat of limiting the volume of electricity imports," Shmyhal said during the hour of questions to the government on Friday, which was broadcast live on YouTube by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko (the European Solidarity faction).
