KYIV, Dec 20 – Russia's cyber aggression does not mean that Ukraine should abandon digitalization and progress, in particular the idea of electronic elections, says Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"For now, we are analyzing the reasons for the success of such an attack, the consequences of such an attack. After everything is analyzed, we, drawing conclusions from each cyberattack by the Russian Federation as an aggressor, will draw conclusions about strengthening our cybersecurity. Therefore, Russia's cyberaggression does not mean that we should abandon digitalization, the introduction of new technologies, and progress," Shmyhal said at a joint briefing with Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas on Friday in Kyiv following a joint meeting of the governments of Ukraine and Lithuania, answering a question from Interfax-Ukraine about how the Russian attack on the registers could affect the discussion about electronic elections in the country.
