KYIV, Dec 17 - Several Ukrainian manufacturers and a Japanese engineering company will launch a joint project in Ukraine for semi knocked down assembly (SKD) of Japanese pickups with the prospect of moving to complete knockdown production (CKD), the Ministry of Economy reported.

"Together with Ukrainian partners, the Japanese company plans to start producing pickups using SKD technology, and in the future they plan to move to CKD production. This is a good signal to other Japanese investors that localizing the production of their products in Ukraine is mutually beneficial cooperation," said First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko during a business forum organized by the Japan External Trade Organization.
