KYIV, Dec 13 – The U.S. Department of State has created a working group on economic recovery of Ukraine on a countrywide scale, has identified 20 priority projects that it is implementing, and intends to expand its activities to new areas, said Acting U.S. Special Representative for Economic Recovery of Ukraine, Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma.
"We must accelerate our cooperation with Ukraine on investment screening with the goal that reconstruction is in line with the EU and NATO critical infrastructure needs. We must also develop special agreements with Ukraine to incentivize U.S., European, and allied private sector participation in reconstruction," he named some of them, speaking at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington on Thursday.
