KIEV, Jan. 30 ??“ Calyon Bank Ukraine and Index Bank, both owned by Credit Agricole S.A., will merge their assets in Ukraine, Interfax-Ukraine reported Tuesday citing Calyon Bank Ukraine Board Chairman Jacque Mounier.

"It would be silly, for tax reasons, not to merge the banks, but when and how ??“ that's not yet known," Mounier said in an interview with the Business weekly newspaper.
