KYIV, Oct 18 – Ukrzaliznytsia has already laid half the distance of wide tracks, which is part of the base preparation for the implementation of the narrow European track project in the Chop-Uzhgorod direction.

"In 2023-2024, Ukrzaliznytsia began implementing a strategic program for the development of the European standard track in Ukraine. The active phase of construction of the European track between Chop and Uzhgorod is underway. As part of the project, Ukrzaliznytsia is laying the wide track, aligning it on the Strumkivka-Chop section, where the European track will also be laid in parallel in the future. Some 3.5 km of tracks out of the 8.3 km required have already been relaid," the company reported on Telegram on Friday.
