KYIV, Oct 3 - Staffing of courts, first of all, in frontline territories, as well as increase in the timeframes for court proceedings due to military actions remain the main problems of the judicial system in the conditions of a full-scale war, according to lawyers interviewed by the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
"Staffing of courts remains the key problem. Currently, a quarter of the positions of judges of local courts and half of the positions in appellate courts remain vacant. This affects the timeframes for consideration of cases and the quality of court decisions," Oleksiy Koltok, partner of Sayenko Kharenko law firm, described the situation to the agency.
