KYIV, Sept 12 – The U.S. authorities have imposed restrictions on the import of items of ethnographic and archaeological heritage of Ukraine in order to prevent the uncontrolled sale of Ukrainian cultural values stolen from the occupied territories on the U.S. market, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova said.
"At an event at Ukraine House, Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma announced a critical decision that the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States and our American partners have been working on for two years. The U.S. Treasury Department and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection have announced a decision on anti-crisis restrictions on the import of certain categories of ethnographic and archaeological heritage items," Markarova said on Facebook on Thursday.
