Ukraine, IMF discuss $142-bln Extended Fund Facility loan, Shmyhal says
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, Sept 10 – Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, stressing the critical importance of external funding for non-military budget expenditures, pointed to an agreed total support amount of $142 billion under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement with the IMF. This amount corresponds to the negative scenario of the program in case the war drags on, whereas the IMF had previously referred to a base scenario of $122 billion in total support.

"We've received funds from the IMF, and the mission for the fifth review of the Extended Fund Facility is currently ongoing. The G7 countries' program, worth $142 billion over five years, is focused on this," Shmyhal said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
