KYIV, Aug 20 - Inflation in Ukraine in 2024 will accelerate to 7.8% instead of the previously expected 6.4%, economic growth will be 4% against 4.1% in the April forecast, and the likelihood of limited monetary financing of the budget deficit has increased, such are the main updates made to its macro forecast by the ICU investment group.

"Annual inflation began to predictably accelerate in May, this acceleration slightly exceeds our expectations. We predict that by the end of the year, inflation will be in the range of 7-8%. It will probably continue to accelerate in the first quarter of 2025, but will remain in the single-digit zone," commented Vitaliy Vavryschuk, head of the ICU macroeconomic research department.
