KYIV, Aug 12 – Naftogaz is continuously working to enhance the protection of Ukraine's underground gas storage (UGS) facilities, according to a statement from the company's press service, citing the head of the group, Oleksiy Chernyshov.
Despite Russian attacks on gas infrastructure in March and April 2024, the injection and withdrawal of gas by foreign traders have been proceeding as usual. As of August 10, the UGS facilities in European Union countries are filled to 87.3% capacity. In contrast, last year’s peak gas injection into Ukraine?s UGS facilities occurred in August and September, continuing into October.
