KYIV, Aug 8 – The direct losses and indirect damages to Ukraine's energy sector resulting from Russia's full-scale invasion have exceeded $56 billion, according to estimates by KSE Institute (Kyiv School of Economics). The sector's recovery needs are estimated at $50 billion.
These figures were presented by KSE Institute during a meeting with energy company executives on August 7.
According to KSE Institute, direct losses from physical destruction of energy assets amount to over $16 billion, while indirect financial losses, which include lost revenues and the costs of restoring damaged energy infrastructure, exceed $40 billion.
