KYIV, Aug 6 – Head of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky confirmed the company's plans to fully pay off the debt on the balancing market by the end of the year (as of the beginning of July, UAH 16.5 billion), noting that at the same time the government and parliament are working out mechanisms to stop their accumulation and guaranteed electricity supplies to protected consumers.

"Yes, we plan to pay off the debt on the balancing market in full this year. Also, the government resolution and the bill are in a very mature stage, which allow not accumulating this debt further. Because stopping the accumulation of debts, the source of which is that some consumers, and these are also certain state and municipal enterprises, simply do not pay for electricity, is the most difficult thing in this problem," he said during the event "Decentralized Generation: New Opportunities for Business and Communities" in Kyiv on Monday.
