KYIV, July 24 – The European Union and Ukraine are looking for ways to ensure sustainable gas supplies to Europe after the termination of the Ukrainian-Russian transit contract in 2024, one of them could be the supply of Azerbaijani gas, said chairman of the board of Naftogaz Ukrainy Oleksiy Chernyshov.
“The issue of sustainable gas supplies to the EU is universal and worries many. We must be sure that this process will not be disrupted in some way. As for the question of who approached whom, I would formulate it as follows: the parties are looking for options, to solve this potential problem,” he said in a comment to Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.
