KYIV, July 24 – The European Business Association (EBA), the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, and the Association of Tobacco Product Manufacturers Ukrtyutyun have appealed to the Verkhovna Rada to support the Cabinet of Ministers' version of bill No. 11090 on increasing the excise tax on tobacco products during its second reading.

"It is necessary to provide for the EU approach in determining a unified euro-to-hryvnia exchange rate for the year (as of October 1 of the previous year for the entire next year) to ensure business activity planning for enterprises – the largest taxpayers in Ukraine. This, according to the official conclusion to the bill and corresponding letters, is insisted upon by both the Rada Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU and the Government Office for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Cabinet of Ministers," said the EBA on its website on Tuesday.
