USAID delivers most of promised gas piston units to ease power shortage
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, July 9 – Of the 91 gas piston units transferred by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), out of 96 previously announced for transfer to Ukraine, 18 have already been connected, and this process continues, although there is a problem with financing the connection work, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boiko said.

"Out of 96 gas piston units, the transfer of which USAID announced to Ukraine, 91 have been transferred and 18 have already been installed. It must be understood that between the receipt of equipment and its installation there is always a time period necessary to carry out work on its integration into electric, gas, and sometimes heating networks. And the duration of such work is measured in months, not days. In addition, some of the equipment is still on the way," Boiko said at the IV conference on energy law in Kyiv on Friday.
