KYIV, July 3 - The Unified Tourist Register (UTR) will start operating on January 1, 2025. It is a key component of the new tourism law aimed at establishing transparent and fair rules for the industry, stated Mariana Oleskiv, the head of the State Agency for Tourism Development (SATD).
"By the end of the year, after certain bureaucratic procedures, the UTR will function in a somewhat limited format—utilizing 5% of its intended capabilities. Hotels will be able to submit documents for categorization electronically, and tour operators will be able to submit their statistical reports. Consumers will be able to see updated licenses and the financial guarantees of tour operators. To fully implement the UTR, a new Tourism Law, which the entire industry awaits, needs to be passed," Oleskiv told Interfax-Ukraine.
