KYIV, June 24 – At ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR, Dnipropetrovsk region), there was a sudden disconnection of several units from the external power system, which briefly led to an increase in emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
"Today [Sunday] around 5:00 AM, there was a sudden disconnection of several production units from the external power system. The production staff had to take several emergency technological actions to preserve production equipment, particularly coke-chemical equipment, and ensure worker safety. Unfortunately, the visual effects were visible in the city. Now the power supply has been restored. The situation is under control," reported the AMKR press service, as quoted by the Ecology Department of the Kryvy Rih City Council.
