KIEV, Jan. 17 - The World Bank may invest up to $1 billion in projects in Ukraine in 2007, compared with some $500 million invested in 2006, Paul Birmingham, the World Bank's regional director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, said at a news conference on Wednesday.

Relevant projects are in the making and funding will begin when this work is completed, he said.
