KYIV, June 11 – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on European partners to provide Ukraine with equipment from shutdown European power plants and provide direct financial support for the functioning of the Ukrainian energy sector.

"Ukraine is now suffering from the most destructive form of the Russian vision of energy - as a weapon. As a result of Russian missile and drone strikes, 9 GW of our power have already been destroyed. Despite the fact that the peak energy consumption in Ukraine last winter was 18 GW. So half now does not exist," the president said, speaking at the opening of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin.
