KYIV, May 30 – Ukraine, in the process of integrating into the European Union, should not only undergo legislative screening and receive recommendations for further action but also formulate its own strategy for approximation to the formal rules of the EU, stated Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade Representative of Ukraine.
"Integration of Ukraine into the European Union is a high-level, political process. The opening of negotiations itself will start in the summer of 2024. However, preparatory seminars, screening, and other activities are taking place concurrently. These activities are extremely important because they will not only assess the weighting of measures but also provide recommendations on what we need to do," he said at Grain Ukraine in Kyiv on Thursday.
