KYIV, May 24 – VF Ukraine (Vodafone Ukraine), the second-largest mobile operator in the country, will jointly with the Finnish telecommunications equipment manufacturer Nokia, test new 5G technology in Kyiv and Ivano-Frankivsk.

"We are testing the IMT-2020 radio technology with the 5G New Radio (NR) base standard. This is a non-standalone solution that allows using the new generation without replacing SIM cards and enables building a network based on the existing 4G network. This is a popular solution worldwide, which, according to the experience of our foreign colleagues, allows for the rapid deployment of the network and increased speed for ordinary subscribers," the press service of Vodafone Ukraine told Interfax-Ukraine.
