KYIV, May 6 – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), taking into account Russia's recent attacks on energy infrastructure, is incorporating into its macroeconomic forecast an electricity deficit averaging around 5% in 2024–2025, estimating electricity imports at $0.8 billion in 2024 and $0.6 billion in 2025.

"Unless there are significant new disruptions, according to NBU estimates, the electricity shortage, even with imports and partial restoration/installation of new generating capacities, will average 5–7% during Q2-Q4 of 2024," the NBU said in its April Inflation Report, released recently.
