KIEV, Jan. 10 ??“ Russian natural gas supplies to Europe via Ukraine dropped by 6.4% on the year to 113.7 billion cubic meters in 2006, UkrTransGaz, the state-owned gas shipper, reported Wednesday.

The figures reflect a warmer weather that has reduced demand for gas, but they also underscore Moscow??™s efforts to reduce dependence on Ukraine as a major gas transit route.
