KYIV, Jan 10 – JSC Ukrzaliznytsia transported 201,260 twenty-foot containers (TEU) in 2023, which is 34% more than in 2022 and corresponds to the indicators of the 2019 pre-war year, Deputy Director of the company's commercial work department Valeriy Tkachev said on Wednesday at a meeting on the development of intermodal transport.
According to him, by the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, container traffic in Uzbekistan had been growing by 11-22% for four years, including 14% in 2021, but after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in 2022, they fell by 46%, to 150,000 TEU.
