KYIV, Jan 5 – ABH Holdings S.A. (ABHH) on December 29, 2023 submitted a request to the International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) for arbitration and a statement of claim against Ukraine, demanding full compensation for the illegal, in its opinion, expropriation of Sense Bank (formerly Alfa-Bank, Kyiv) by forced nationalization.

"The claimed amount exceeds $1 billion. The legal basis of the claim is the treaty between the Belgium-Luxembourg Economic Union and the government of Ukraine on the mutual attraction and protection of investments," ABHH said on its website.
