KYIV, Dec 22 - The state of the Ukrainian energy system allows Energoatom to shut down one of the power units for a short period to carry out certain work in order to increase capacity, said company president Petro Kotin.

“For this period of the year, the weather spoils us, the temperature is above zero. Now the energy system of Ukraine is quite balanced, there is enough power. Today we are working with all nine power units, providing full power to the energy system. And according to the state of balance, we can turn off one power unit in order to make some improvements in order to gain additional capacity in a few days,” Kotin said.
