KYIV, Dec 8 - The energy system will face one or two more potentially stressful weeks, and closer to the New Year, consumption will decline and it will be easier to cope with the provision of energy supplies, predicts Volodymyr Kudrytsky, chairman of the board of Ukrenergo.
He noted that on Thursday, December 7, consumption became a record for the current heating season.
“Consumption went even higher than we planned. Today we observed the maximum consumption in the current operational period. The resulting deficit is measured by several thermal power plant units missing from the system, so we were forced to attract emergency assistance from Europe in order to get through this difficult working day in a balanced manner,” Kudrytsky said.
