KYIV, Nov 3 – At a meeting on Thursday, the board of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine recognized the possibility of extending the operation of power unit No. 1 of Pivdennoukrainsk NPP (PNPP-1) for another 10 years, the inspectorate’s website reported on Thursday.

“Recognize as justified the possibility of safe operation of power unit No. 1 of Pivdennoukrainsk NPP at the power levels specified in the design until December 2, 2033,” the board’s decision says.
