KYIV, Oct 30 - Ukrainian flour millers in the 2022/2023 marketing year (MY) increased flour exports to 149,700 tons, which is 20.1% higher than the pre-war 2020/2021 MY, when it reached 124,600 tons, said the head of the audit commission of the public union Flour Millers of Ukraine, Serhiy Sakirkin.
“That is, in a year when there was a safe sea, containers of bran were in great demand, the filling of warehouses could not be imagined even in nightmares - but only 125,000 tons. However, here the sea is only in Romania and beyond, wild rates for trucks to ports and to European consumers... Logistics is simply terrible! And 150,000 tons!" he wrote in a review for the analytical agency APK-Inform.
