KYIV, Oct 18 – An improvement in the situation with shipments of Ukrainian grain from Odesa ports is attracting the attention of Asian buyers to Black Sea supplies and will contribute to rising prices for wheat, according to the analytical cooperative Pusk, created within the Ukrainian Agrarian Council.
"Ukraine received a wheat harvest at the level of last year, but logistics cannot cope. However, over the past few weeks, large-capacity Panamax vessels have been steadily calling at Odesa ports, and significant demand is felt from Asian buyers on a CIF basis. We are talking about Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Indonesia. If look at the price of wheat that Ukraine can offer, then we can greatly win in the competition," analysts note.
