KYIV, Oct 9 – The volume of gas from foreign European companies in underground gas storage (UGS) facilities in Ukraine exceeds 2 billion cubic meters, and by winter it will increase to 3 billion cubic meters, which will increase the total stocks in underground gas storage facilities to 16.5 billion cubic meters, Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko has said.
"Even despite military risks, today European companies store their gas in Ukraine. Today, we already have more than 2 billion cubic meters of gas from nonresidents, that is, foreign European companies, stored in Ukrainian facilities. And according to the plans that we see, the contracts concluded, by winter this volume will be increased to 3 billion," Haluschenko said at a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada last week.
