KYIV, Oct 6 – The Verkhovna Rada on Friday supported at the final reading the bill (No. 10038) on amendments to the state budget 2023, which increased its expenses by UAH 317.1 billion, including UAH 302.6 billion of additional funding allocated for the security and defense sector, and the main source will be an increase in government borrowing by UAH 290.7 billion.

"After 11.5 hours of "intellectual discussions" (with zero results because there were no significant changes in the bill), we adopted at the final reading the bill on the state budget 2023, which allocates UAH 303 billion for defense needs," the head of the budget committee, Roksolana Pidlasa, wrote on Facebook after considering about a thousand amendments to the document.
